Jeremy R. Gussick, MBA, CFP®
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM
Jeremy has nearly 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. He specializes in Retirement Income Planning and Investment Management for individuals, families and LGBTQ+ singles and couples, helping his clients pursue their financial and life goals by attempting to add clarity and discipline to their planning process.
As a Certified Financial PlannerTM Jeremy recognizes the importance of taking a comprehensive approach to working with clients. To him, proper financial planning is about more than just money. It's about taking the extra time upfront to develop a deep understanding of his client's priorities: their family, their career, what they do for fun, their hopes and dreams for both today and the future. Only with this holistic knowledge can Jeremy provide clear, relevant, and meaningful advice.
Prior to joining LPL Financial, Jeremy worked as a Financial Advisor with the Private Client Group at Smith Barney and at Legg Mason Wood Walker, Inc. After graduating from Hofstra University with his MBA in Finance, Jeremy began his financial career on Wall Street, initially working as a Financial Analyst and then a Relationship Manager for Bear Wagner Specialists on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. This is where he learned firsthand how the financial markets operate and how to build and nurture relationships with the firm's corporate clients.
While Jeremy enjoyed the fast-paced environment and experience of working on Wall Street, he began to realize his career path might not allow him to make the meaningful impact, or have the healthy work-life balance he ultimately desired. This is when he discovered the career of a Financial Advisor, and immediately saw the potential to utilize his financial knowledge and problem-solving skill to have a more direct, personal impact on the people around him.
As Jeremy became more actively involved in his local professional community, he quickly discovered that many LGBTQ+ singles and couples were struggling to find advisors who they felt comfortable being open with and who understood the unique financial planning challenges they face. Clients found working with Jeremy allowed them to have a deeper, more honest conversation about their lives, which in turn would allow them to make more meaningful, authentic plans for their futures.
Jeremy continues to be an active member of the South Jersey and Philadelphia communities through a variety of professional and charitable organizations. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Delaware Valley Legacy Fund (DVLF) and is an original founder of Philadelphia’s LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce, the Independence Business Alliance (IBA). Jeremy supports Garden State Equality (GSE) and the Animal Welfare Association of South Jersey (AWA). In addition, he is a member of LPL’s Advisor Inclusion Council, helping implement LPL's Advisor Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Program firm-wide.
Since 2009, Jeremy has been a contributing financial columnist for the Philadelphia Gay News. His current monthly column, OutMoney, and archives, can be viewed here.
Jeremy has been honored for the high quality of his client service as an 8-time FIVE STAR Wealth Manager Award Winner (as seen in Philadelphia and South Jersey Magazine, 2016-2023).1
